Description
What kind of wine it is
Isole e Olena Chianti Classico presents a clear ruby red colour. On the nose, it releases intense aromas of cherry, raspberry and wild berries, intertwined with notes of violet, undergrowth and truffle, with delicate woody nuances. On the palate, this blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Syrah expresses roundness and elegance. The taste is balanced, led by a lively acidity and soft tannins that flow into a long, fruity finish, enhanced by a subtle mineral tension.
Where it comes from
The wine originates in the heart of Chianti Classico, from vineyards located in Barberino Val d’Elsa, Tuscany. The Isole e Olena winery relies on the expertise of oenologist Paolo De Marchi to enhance the identity of the region. The estate’s vineyards yield high-quality grapes, capable of delivering a structured sip that remains true to its origins. The wine’s solid structure ensures excellent ageing potential, estimated between ten and fifteen years.
How to enjoy it
To best appreciate its nuances, a one-hour decanting is recommended, and it should be served at a temperature between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius. Its flavour profile makes it extremely versatile at the table, ensuring a harmonious pairing with first courses with robust sauces and tasty grilled meats. Its lively structure also pairs excellently with game dishes, cured meats and mature cheeses, confirming it as an ideal choice to accompany convivial moments.

The wines have Cepparello at their head, a barrique-aged Sangiovese classified as an IGT - because at the time of its creation in the 1980s a wine comprising 100% Sangiovese could not legally be labelled as Chianti. There is a Chianti Classico and a Vin Santo, as well as some excellent wines from the Collezione de Marchi label, including a Syrah called Eremo, a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Chardonnay. Read more
