From this winery
  • Start up year: 1983
The Golan Heights group is located in Israel, in the Golan Heights, in the small town of Katzrin. The Golan is one of Israel's least visited and least known regions, but no less exciting and attractive, also in terms of wine growing. Since its foundation in 1983, the winery has distinguished itself by producing wines of considerable value and long tradition, considering that winemaking in the region seems to be as old as the Bible itself.

Precisely in keeping with tradition, this winery is one of the few to produce exclusively kosher wines, i.e. wines authorised by rabbis and, therefore, drinkable by Orthodox Jews.

The vineyards are located on an area extending from the Sea of Galilee's shores to Mount Hermon's foot at an altitude of between four hundred and one thousand two hundred metres.
The volcanic, basalt-rich soil allows for excellent soil drainage and the relatively temperate climate, given the immediate vicinity of Mount Hermon, is ideal for growing vines. Thanks to the richness and uniqueness of this terroir, the wines produced in this region have a fine structure and lend themselves to ageing.
