Description

What kind of wine it is

The Champagne Quinte Essence Extra Brut by Franck Pascal is a biodynamic sparkling wine that expresses the authentic character of its terroir. Produced using the Traditional Method, it is made from a blend of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Tasting reveals a fresh and vertical profile, dominated by a profound minerality. The broad and smooth palate makes it perfect for pairing with shellfish, lean fish dishes or refined soft cheeses.

Where it comes from

The wine originates in the Marne, specifically in the area of Baslieux-sous-Chatillon, within the Champagne region. The vineyards are cultivated according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture, respecting the rhythms of nature. The local soil, rich in chalky components, gives the sparkling wine a distinct limestone imprint, offering a deep, taut expression with a precise territorial identity, free from invasive technical interventions.

How it is produced

The vinification of the blend takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve aromatic clarity. After the secondary fermentation, the sparkling wine rests for a 48-month maturation on the lees, gaining depth and complexity. The bouquet reveals inviting notes of white fruits and peach, intertwined with pronounced saline hints. On the palate, the lively freshness of red fruits precedes a delicious and persistent sip, characterised by a pleasant dynamism.

History and Curiosities

The Champagne Quinte Essence Extra Brut 2013 by Franck Pascal is a pure and authentic expression of the Marne terroir, born from biodynamic viticulture that strictly follows lunar cycles. This prestigious Champagne, dominated by Pinot Meunier, matures for 48 months on the lees, developing an extraordinary mineral character and unparalleled elegance. Capable of evolving beautifully for up to twenty-five years, the cuvée offers a broad, fresh and enveloping sip, awarded 95 points by James Suckling as confirmation of its undisputed excellence.
