Description
Harmonium is a fresh, well-structured wine capable of releasing profound aromas, produced with care and attention since the end of the last century by the Di Gaetano family, founders of the Firriato winery. Elegant, fresh, and balanced, this still red is made from a single-varietal blend: 100% Nero d'Avola, a typical native Sicilian red grape. Its being also known as Calabrese has led to several misunderstandings about its origins; it is weather-resistant, so it presents no particular difficulties when grown using the typical spurred espalier system. This grape prefers clayey soils, and manual harvesting lends a traditional character to the entire production process. Vinification in stainless steel tanks is then followed by aging for 10 months in barriques under careful periodic checks. This fabulous still red wine with the DOC Sicilia designation represents the pinnacle of a magical and fascinating land; over the years, Harmonium has become the benchmark in the Sicilian and Italian wine sector thanks to the masterful care of the vines, the attention to refinement, and many other small elements that have transformed a simple grape into a noble and one-of-a-kind product.
