Description
Still red Barolo DOCG, 15% ABV, produced by Elio Grasso. 100% Nebbiolo. 0.75L bottle, 2020 vintage. A Barolo that embodies the history and passion of the Grasso family, who have been producing excellent wines in Monforte d'Alba for generations. The bouquet opens with hints of ripe cherry, plum, orange peel, humus, and sweet violet. Licorice root, cinchona, and rhubarb follow, followed by intense notes of camphor, eucalyptus, and bay leaf, which characterize the balsamic finish. A delicate ruby color with garnet highlights. Silky on the palate, full-bodied and juicy, it expands with vigorous and austere freshness, highlighting a mineral vein and evolving tannins. A long finish reminiscent of licorice.

In the early 1980s we decided to go back to our origins as grape growers, well aware that our work did not stop at the end of the row of vines. We had no illusions that we were inventing anything: we merely wanted to comply with the best in the traditions and work of our predecessors, without any preconceived ideas.
