Description

Champagne Grand Cru Extra Brut Vintage 2015, produced by Egly-Ouriet in the Champagne region, 12.5% ABV. An excellence that embodies the quintessential Egly-Ouriet style, combining the complexity of Pinot Noir (70%) with the finesse of Chardonnay (30%). This vintage yielded complex aromas of flowers and yellow and white-fleshed fruits, such as peach and pear, with notes of sweet spices, vanilla, honey, and green tea. The color is an intense and brilliant golden yellow. On the palate, it develops without hesitation, displaying full body and great freshness. A grand chalky finish with a light pungency of black pepper. Harmony and great energy.

A Champagne that represents its terroir: the vine and soil are found throughout this wine, thanks to old vines, a few winemaker's secrets and modern technology. Egly-Ouriet produces champagne only with grapes from its 11.5 hectares company's vineyards, the most important of which are in Ambonnay, the home of Pinot Noir, the others in Bouzy, Verzenay and Vrigny. Quality begins on this particular soil, made up of layers of chalk that reflect the sun's rays and release heat to the vines at night, allowing excess water to be absorbed and giving the grapes a particularly mineral taste.
