Description
This Bordeaux Blanc from the Chateau Lamothe de Haux winery is a still white wine, classified as a Bordeaux AOC (Appellation d'Origine Controllée, the French equivalent of DOC). This wine originates in France and is produced in the Bordeaux region, in the Gironde department. The origins of the vineyards in this region are very ancient, and the history is tinged with legend: it seems that those responsible for the beginning of the cultivation of vineyards were the notables of Bordeaux, then Burdigala, who decided to create vineyards due to the excessively high prices of Italian and Narbonne wines. Chateau Lamothe de Haux Bordeaux Blanc wine is made using a blend consisting of grapes from Sauvignon vineyards (40%), grapes from Sémillon vineyards (40%), and grapes from Muscadelle vineyards (20%). The climate in which the vines grow is strongly influenced by their geographical position with respect to the Garonne and Dordogne rivers: the unique properties, not only climatic but also environmental, of this region favor the production of a quality wine such as Bordeaux Blanc. The vinification process features the peculiarity of the practice of cold fermentation, also leaving the wine to ferment in contact with the skins. Subsequently, the wine is aged on the lees for a period of approximately three weeks.
