It all began in 1893 when Luigi Cecchi became a professional wine taster. The wine taster's profession, widespread in Europe, was still unknown in Italy. However, Luigi understood how the potential of Italian viticulture could reach the top of world oenology if the quality of the wines produced was recognised. In the early 20th century, Luigi was joined by his son Cesare.
