Description
What kind of wine it is
Bruno Giacosa's Nebbiolo d’Alba is a still red wine that clearly expresses the character of Piedmont. To the eye, it displays a garnet red hue, hinting at an intense yet measured aromatic profile. The bouquet opens with a delicate floral note, leading to a full and dry sip. On the palate, it is pleasantly tannic and well balanced, supported by a pronounced fruity character. For optimal serving, decanting for about an hour allows the wine to open up and reveal all its elegance.
Where it comes from
This Nebbiolo d’Alba originates from the hills of Neive, a renowned area of Piedmont located in the heart of the Langhe. The expression of this territory results in a wine of great composure, often compared to a small Barolo for its natural elegance. The authentic connection with Nebbiolo grapes enhances the structure of a red that combines freshness and rigour. The local soils and microclimate favour the development of a dry and defined flavour profile, offering floral notes that faithfully reflect the vocation of the area.
How it is produced
The vinification of Bruno Giacosa's Nebbiolo d’Alba aims to preserve the typical structure of the grape variety. The meticulous handling of the grapes defines the wine's austere and composed character, while careful attention in the cellar consolidates the harmony between the aromatic profile and the solidity of the palate. This care in the cellar results in a glass of great balance, ideal for pairing precisely with red meats, game and mature cheeses. Decanting before serving further enhances the fruity nuances of this Piedmontese red.
History and Curiosities
Among the wines of the Langhe, Bruno Giacosa's Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC is renowned as a true “little Barolo”. Produced in Neive, the 2024 vintage stands out for its pronounced fruity character and intense floral aromas. Despite its youth, it offers a dry, full and pleasantly tannic sip, revealing remarkable elegance and composure. With 14.5% vol. and excellent value for money, this garnet red is ideal for accompanying meats, game and mature cheeses.
