Description
Still red from Valtellina, 15.5% ABV, produced by Barbacan. Sforzato di Valtellina DOCG, 2022 vintage. A wine that represents the excellence of Valtellina, made from dried Nebbiolo grapes, with a vinification that enhances its complexity and structure. Barbacàn is Angelo Sega and his sons Luca and Matteo. We harvest Chiavennasca and other ancient Valtellina grape varieties from 6 hectares of terraced vineyards in San Giacomo di Teglio. We are farmers in the Alps, preserving the diversity of our ancient native grape varieties and the cultural identity of traditional agronomic practices. We believe in natural viticulture where man and his knowledge serve the land. Without pretense or artifice, we cultivate our healthy, vibrant grapes, allowing spontaneous fermentation to take place. On the nose, aromas of red fruit are complemented by spicy notes. Ruby red in color with garnet highlights. On the palate, the wine is long and persistent.
