Description
What kind of wine it is
Balter Trento Brut is a Traditional Method sparkling wine that embodies the finesse of the Trento denomination. Created from a harmonious blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, it appears in the glass with a straw yellow colour and golden highlights. On the nose, it reveals an intense and structured bouquet, characterised by fragrant notes of bread crust, hazelnut and vanilla, combined with fresh citrus hints. On the palate, it is fresh, enveloping and elegant, supported by a pronounced savoury streak that leads to a balanced finish with pleasant apple nuances, confirming the versatility of the Brut dosage.
Where it comes from
This sparkling wine originates from the hillside vineyards of Vallunga, located in Rovereto, Trentino-Alto Adige, at around 350 metres above sea level. The vines thrive on moraine and silty soils with a significant presence of clay. This specific geological composition profoundly influences the character of the wine, ensuring a constant mineral tension and a marked aromatic precision, key factors for a clear expression of aromas.
How it is produced
Harvesting begins in the first half of September, followed by gentle pressing of the grapes and static decantation of the must. Alcoholic fermentation takes place mainly in steel tanks, while a portion matures in French oak barrels. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and rests until blending. The prise de mousse strictly follows the techniques of the Traditional Method, accompanied by a long ageing on the lees of at least 36 months, which structures the body and ensures the typical very fine and persistent perlage. The cycle concludes with the remuage and disgorgement operations.
History and Curiosities
Born in Vallunga di Rovereto, Balter Trento Brut embodies the excellence of the traditional method. This refined Trentodoc is made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, harvested in September and pressed with the utmost delicacy. Partial fermentation in French oak barriques gives the wine extraordinary structure and complexity. Thanks to a patient 36-month maturation on the lees, the wine develops an extremely fine perlage and enveloping notes of bread crust, ensuring a fresh, elegant sip with unforgettable savouriness.
