Description

What kind of wine it is

The Crémant d’Alsace Reserve Abbaye Chardonnay Brut by Arthur Metz is a sparkling wine that fully expresses the elegance of the grape variety. Produced using the Traditional Method, this wine, with its bright golden colour, reveals a complex bouquet of white-fleshed fruit and pear, enriched by fragrant notes of brioche and bread crust. On the palate, the Chardonnay offers a rounded and lively attack, delivering a harmonious and dry sip with a long and aromatic finish.

Where it comes from

This sparkling wine originates in Alsace, specifically in the Marlenheim area. The vineyards, located at the foot of the Vosges, benefit from a geographical position that ensures the grapes have excellent aromatic definition and characteristic freshness. The Arthur Metz winery, a historic establishment founded in 1904, carefully oversees every stage of production to enhance the Alsatian terroir. Attention to detail allows for a balanced structure that faithfully reflects the landscape of origin.

How it is produced

Production strictly follows the principles of the Traditional Method, with secondary fermentation in the bottle. The wine is aged on the lees for over eighteen months, a crucial period for developing aromatic complexity and a pleasant structural roundness. This technique ensures a fine perlage and a dynamic flavour. Served at a temperature between 5 and 8°C, it is ideal as an aperitif and pairs excellently with fish and shellfish. Its aromatic persistence also makes it an excellent match for selections of cheeses and cured meats.
