Description
Les Jardins du Mesnil is a very balanced and fresh French sparkling wine, characterized by a broad aromatic range. It is produced by the André Robert winery, which has specialized for several generations in the cultivation of Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards. Made using a classic sparkling wine method, through secondary fermentation of the wine in the bottle, it has obtained the AOC Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs recognition. It is made with 100% Chardonnay white grapes. The vines prefer a mainly gravelly soil, rich in minerals and microelements, with a mild climate. The grapes ripen quite early, around the second half of August. The manual harvest is carried out between the end of September and the first weeks of October. This is followed by a meticulous vinification process that includes a seven-month aging period on the lees in barriques with batonnage (a technique of stirring the fine lees into the base wine). Malolactic fermentation is not included in this process. The wine is then bottled using the classic method and left to mature on the lees.

We cultivate the 3 grape varieties : Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. But Chardonnay is the heart and soul of our estate and is the major share of all our blends. The Chardonnay is a fragile and delicate plant but contributes flowery, citric and mineral overtones to our blends making for elegant and racy wines. Read more
