Description
What kind of wine it is
The Champagne Blanc De Blancs Extra Brut by Alain Couvreur enhances the elegance and purity of Chardonnay. Crafted using the Traditional Method, it offers a fresh profile and a well-defined structure, ideal for refined pairings. The typical minerality blends harmoniously with aromas of tropical fruit, chalk, melted butter and vanilla. This Extra Brut is perfect as an aperitif or to accompany fish dishes and cheeses, combining gustatory tension with great overall balance.
Where it comes from
The wine originates in Prouilly, in Champagne, where the Alain Couvreur winery adopts an organic and sustainable approach. The approximately thirty-year-old vines grow on clay-limestone soils, giving the wine a distinct and profound territorial character. The soil imparts to the Chardonnay a linear gustatory progression and clear chalky notes, delivering a faithful, elegant and vibrant expression of its area of origin.
How it is produced
The grapes are vinified entirely in stainless steel, with malolactic fermentation taking place. The secondary fermentation follows the principles of the Traditional Method, ensuring a fine and persistent effervescence. The subsequent ageing in bottle for three years consolidates the structure and preserves the characteristic mineral tension. In the glass, it displays a pale gold colour, offering a clean, crisp sip that is consistently focused on freshness.
