Description

What kind of wine it is

The 1701 Franciacorta Blanc De Noir Dosaggio Zero represents the pure expression of Pinot Noir. Made strictly according to the Traditional Method, it stands out for its bright straw-yellow colour and a fine, persistent perlage. The bouquet opens with clear scents of white flowers, such as hawthorn and elderflower, followed by fruity notes of citron, Reinette apple and medlar, enriched by delicate hints of thyme and exotic spices. On the palate, it offers a fresh, dry and savoury sip, characterised by excellent persistence and a perfect harmony between acidic tension and body.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in Franciacorta, specifically from the Brolo vineyard in Cazzago San Martino. The vines are cultivated following the principles of organic and Demeter biodynamic agriculture, using the Guyot training system. The vineyard is rooted in a deep morainic soil, enriched with abundant stones and a thin surface layer of silty-sandy deposits. This unique geological matrix provides the ideal conditions to enhance the pronounced tension, finesse and distinct savoury character that define the identity of this label.

How it is produced

The first fermentation of the must occurs spontaneously thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts. Part of the mass ferments in steel tanks, while the rest matures in third-use French oak barrels, thus enriching the structure without overpowering the varietal notes. Once the blend is created, the secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Traditional Method. This is followed by a prolonged ageing of at least 72 months on the lees, which is essential to broaden the aromatic range and refine the texture of the bubbles. The final disgorgement, carried out without the addition of sugars, delivers a dry, pure and rigorous sip.

History and Curiosities

Born in the Brolo vineyard, the 1701 Franciacorta Blanc de Noirs 2020 represents certified excellence, both organic and Demeter biodynamic. This Traditional Method wine, made from Pinot Noir grapes, ferments with indigenous yeasts in steel and oak barrels. Thanks to a maturation of at least 72 months on the lees, this elegant Dosaggio Zero offers a fresh and savoury sip, able to enhance the vocation of the Lombardy region with fine and persistent bubbles.

Making quality wines, innovative and traditional at the same time, is the goal we have set ourselves since the beginning , in 2011, when we purchased the farm from the Conti Bettoni Cazzago family. The name of the winery, 1701 , is due to the first vintage of a wine produced from the "Brolo" : a suggestive domestic vineyard surrounded by walls from the 11th century. History repeats itself, because today from that same vineyard - in the splendid setting of Palazzo Bettoni - we obtain an extraordinary Blanc de Noirs.

We have decided to adhere to a healthy and environmentally friendly agriculture , which improves and enriches the soils in which it is applied. And above all, which gives a natural wine with a unique taste.
