Features Leaf: medium, pentagonal, pentalobata; Flat flap with slightly tilted lobes; U open petiole breast; Upper U lateral breasts with slightly overlapping edges, slightly lower side lateral bones, slightly open; Top and bottom page with glabrous or light hair.Bunch: medium, cylindrical-pyramidal, winged, compact.Acino: medium-small, ovoid of obovoide; Pruinose, thin, consistent skin, uniformly distributed blue-black color.
Growing areas It is predominantly diffused in Montepulciano, Siena, Tuscany.
History Probably native to the municipality of Montepulciano, in the province of Siena and already described in the eighteenth century as "red pigeon". It may come from the sanguine, but it differs for a few characters.
