Chateau Poujeaux

The estate produced its first wines in the 19th century and took on real independence. In the first half of the 20th century, the property was prosperous and was handed down and divided up until the Theil family decided to take a closer look at it. Jean Theil strove to bring the different parts of the estate back together again and built its reputation.

Château Poujeaux became sought after by connoisseurs: Former French President George Pompidou swore by it and served it at the Elysée palace! Jean’s descendants inherited his devotion to the estate and perpetuate the spirit of Poujeaux.

2008, Philippe Cuvelier and his son Matthieu, who are already the happy owners of the Saint-Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classé Château Clos Fourtet, have taken over the destiny of this lovely estate in Moulis en Médoc.
While ensuring the continuity of operations here, they are also injecting one new energy and lots of ambition into the property.
