Description

What kind of wine it is

Venturini Baldini Montelocco Rosé Lambrusco is an organic sparkling rosé wine that expresses the authentic character of Lambrusco di Sorbara. Produced in the Emilia region, it stands out for its fresh and semi-dry profile, supported by lively acidity and a delicate perlage. The bouquet opens with notes of wild strawberry, black cherry and raspberry, enriched by elegant earthy and herbal nuances. On the palate, the soft effervescence accompanies clear citrus hints, finishing with a persistent saline minerality in every sip.

Where it comes from

This wine originates from the foothill area between Parma and Reggio Emilia, a territory deeply suited to Emilian viticulture. The Venturini Baldini vineyards are located at around two hundred metres altitude on sandy clay soils, which are essential for giving the variety a slender structure and its characteristic savoury finish. The cultivation follows the natural inclination of Lambrusco di Sorbara towards freshness and aromatic finesse. The winery follows a strict sustainable agricultural approach, having been among the first in the region to obtain organic certification.

How it is produced

Vinification begins with Lambrusco di Sorbara grapes undergoing temperature-controlled fermentation, which is essential for achieving the brilliant blush pink colour. The subsequent sparkling process uses the Charmat Method, a technique chosen to preserve the fruit's fragrance and enhance a regular and fine perlage. This process ensures a smooth sip, where the effervescence blends harmoniously with the acidity. Ideal when served chilled, it is a perfect accompaniment for elegant aperitifs and seafood dishes.

History and Curiosities

Founded in 1976 on the Emilian hills, the Venturini Baldini estate combines the history of Villa Manodori with a deep commitment to sustainability. Among the first in the region to obtain organic certification, this oasis among woods and vineyards enhances the authenticity of pure Lambrusco di Sorbara. From the vision of oenologist Piergiuseppe Carucci comes Montelocco Rosé, a refined sparkling wine that has won over the most discerning palates, achieving the excellent rating of 90 points from James Suckling.

The agricultural estate Venturini Baldini was founded in 1976 on a historic estate in the hills between Parma and Reggio Emilia, in the province of Reggio Emilia. The hills reach an altitude of 370 metres and provide an excellent microclimate to grow vines, with the sun breaking the winter fog and cool greens tempering the summer heats. The 130-hectare estate, comprising 30 hectares of vineyards as well as woods and pastures, was one of the first in Emilia Romagna to obtain an organic certification.

The estate is not only part of a splendid naturalistic scenery, but has also a rich historical heritage Built on Matildic foundations, the current Villa Manodori dates back to the early 16th century, and still today recalls the ancient glories of the noble families who called it home, from the Marquises Fontanelli, to the Counts Galliani, the Counts Ancini, and finally in the 19th century, as residence of the Marquis Manodori.
