Description
What kind of wine it is
Barolo Albe by G.D. Vajra is a wine from Piedmont that enhances the elegance of Nebbiolo grapes. This blend from three high-altitude vineyards presents a bright garnet colour and a complex aromatic profile, enriched with notes of rose, red fruits, spices and subtle balsamic hints. On the palate, it is vibrant, supported by a pleasant acidity and elegant tannins that lead to a persistent finish, ideal for pairing with fine meats, game and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
It originates in the municipality of Barolo, within the hamlet of Vergne. The grapes grow in the Coste di Vergne, Fossati and La Volta vineyards, situated between 380 and 480 metres above sea level. The area enjoys a well-sunned climate and night-time temperature variations, ideal for preserving the intensity of the aromas. Thanks to these climatic conditions and the different exposures, the terroir imparts the wine with a perfect harmony between freshness and structural depth.
How it is produced
Production begins in autumn with a manual harvest and a triple selection of the bunches. Red vinification takes place in truncated conical vats with gentle punching down and pumping over. After spontaneous malolactic fermentation, the wine undergoes a slow ageing in large Slavonian oak barrels. This period of rest perfects the elegance of the Nebbiolo, defining a harmonious and balanced flavour profile.
