Description
Still organic Piedmontese red, 14.5% ABV, produced by Vajra, Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC, 2023 vintage. A wine born from the passion of the Vaira family, who have been growing their vineyards organically for over 50 years. 100% Barbera blend. Vinification typically lasts 30 to 40 days, one of the longest active fermentations even in the cellar. Aged 18-28 months in large Slavonian oak barrels before release, plus a few months in bottle to ensure the wine is fully integrated upon release. The nose is dark and layered, with red tones, raspberry, redcurrant, a hint of blackcurrant, and plum. Deep purple color. On the palate, it is a thoughtful and noble Barbera, with plenty of density and layering. It combines redcurrant, stone fruit, and prune, with soft tannins.
