Description
What kind of wine it is
Rosso dei Notri is a still red wine from Tuscany produced by Tua Rita, characterised by a bright ruby colour. It is an elegant blend that combines Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grapes, offering a direct sip with pleasant freshness. On the nose, intense floral sensations and crisp red fruit emerge, accompanied by lively hints of spices, fresh rosemary and vegetal notes. Ideal for pairing with grilled red meats and flavourful game roasts, it presents a savoury profile supported by lively, well-balanced tannins, culminating in a persistent and harmonious finish.
Where it comes from
This wine expresses the terroir of Suvereto, a charming corner of Tuscany nestled in the Val di Cornia. The vines grow under the influence of the nearby Colline Metallifere, on soil that gives the grapes a pronounced savoury character. The clay soils are mixed with gravel, silt and sand, with a variable presence of stones depending on the altitude of the plots. This composition, rich in mineral microelements, ensures the plant has optimal conditions to develop a vigorous character and lively freshness on the palate.
How it is produced
Production follows organic principles, beginning with a delicate manual harvest of the bunches to preserve their integrity. In the winery, the different varieties undergo separate vinification to enhance their individual characteristics. Sangiovese ferments and matures in stainless steel tanks, while Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah are aged in French barrels, using gravity transfer. Each stage follows the philosophy of artisanal production with minimal intervention to maintain the purity of the fruit.
History and Curiosities
Tua Rita was established in 1984, the year Rita and Virgilio founded their family-run winery in Suvereto. This elegant Tuscan blend harmonises Sangiovese with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, enhancing the unmistakable terroir of the Val di Cornia. The result of careful artisanal production based on minimal intervention in the cellar, the wine charmingly expresses the mineral richness of the Colline Metallifere. An authentic sip that delights the palate thanks to its brilliant freshness and lively tannins, celebrating a lifelong love for the land.

It was this enthusiasm that pushed them to focus their energies and means to exploit the great potential hidden by that small plot of land at that time.
The farm, located in Loc Notre Suvereto, lies about 100 meters. above sea level and has made medium-textured soils, clay, rich in micronutrients such as iron and zinc that distinguish the wines of "mineral terroir" and where the International varieties find a very favorable environment.
The couple had a happy intuition planting Merlot and Cabernet because of the two wines Giusto di Notri was born in 1992, which immediately caught the attention of the national and International press for its depth and 'Tuscan-ness' in the glass.
It was later decided to leave two barrels of Merlot and vinify it alone: in 1994 the Redigaffi will become a cult wine, the first Italian wine to obtain 100/100 by Robert Parker with the 2000 vintage, capable of making Tua Rita one of the 100 best wineries in the world according to the prestigious Revue du Vin de France.
This marked the beginning of an escalation of success for Tua Rita, which over the years led to the expansion and modernisation of the cellar; thanks to the collaboration of her son-in-law Stefano Frascolla (owner of the winery of the same name) and oenologist Dr. Stefano Chioccioli. Today the company extends to about 50 hectares, 30 hectares of which are planted with vines, while production stands at 110,000 bottles, divided between 5 red and 2 white wines. Read more
