Description
A still red wine from the heart of Puglia, 16% ABV, produced by Tormaresca. 100% Primitivo, an iconic varietal of the region. 0.75 L bottle, 2020 vintage. A Primitivo di Manduria born from the Antinori family's passion for Puglia. Tenuta Carrubo is located in the countryside surrounding the town of Fragagnano (TA), in the Manduria DOC area. The nose is rich and complex, with notes of red fruit, such as black cherry, dried plum, and brandied cherries, followed by delicate sensations of licorice, tobacco, and amaretto. On the palate, it is soft and ample, with elegant tannins well supported by a pleasant freshness; the fruity finish, typical of the variety, is characteristic of this wine.

| Story | Tenuta Carrubo is located in the countryside of Fragagnano (TA), in the DOC area of Manduria, about 120 metres above sea level. The 40 hectares of vineyards are cultivated with the historic local variety. Here, the Primitivo grape finds an area of choice, favoured by the calcareous, typically red soils and the climate characterised by particularly hot summers, but with excellent temperature excursions between day and night. The historical vineyards are bush-trained but there are also espaliers in the more recent rows. Carrubo, produced from a selection of grapes from the estate vineyards, was born from the ambition to represent the character and charm of the Apulian territory through the main variety of this denomination: Primitivo. |
