Description
Still white wine from Trentino-Alto Adige, 13.5% ABV, produced by Tiefenbrunner. 100% Chardonnay. 0.75 L bottle, 2020 vintage. A Chardonnay Riserva from the Au vineyard, located in Niclara, a hamlet of Cortaccia on the Wine Road. The Tiefenbrunner family, now in its fifth generation, produces this wine with passion and dedication. After opening with mineral notes of flint and walnut, it gradually develops the full aromatic complexity of its bouquet, punctuated by exotic yellow fruits and floral essences. Our AU Chardonnay Riserva, with its crystalline reflections that stand out against the straw yellow color. On the palate, this wine is intense and velvety, perfectly balancing its light acidity and delicate tannic base.

| Soil composition | The AU Vineyard stands on very deep moraine soil, not very compact, sandy, with a high clay content and a high salt and limestone content. The humus content is almost 5 %. The high silt and clay content means that the Chardonnay grapes and the resulting wine have good acidity. The limestone favours the ripening of yellow floral notes. |
| Cultivation system | Espalliera and pergola (old vines). |
| Plants per hectare | 8000 |
| Harvest | The grapes are harvested once phenolic maturity and a balanced relationship between sugar content and acidity has been reached. |
| Wine making | After light crushing, the must undergoes spontaneous fermentation in small oak barrels. |
| Aging | The new wine then matures on the lees, and after one year the entire quantity produced spends a further six months in steel barrels for natural clarification. During the most auspicious lunar phase, the Chardonnay Riserva AU is bottled and then aged a further two years in the bottle before being released for sale. |
