Re Manfredi was established in 1998, in the heart of Aglianico del Vulture DOC wine country, just a few kilometres from Venosa, the little town famous as the birthplace of Latin poet Horace in 65 BC.A smart, welcoming farmhouse is the centre of the estate, which has 100 and more hectares of Guyot and spurred cordon-trained vines.

Next to the farmhouse is Andrea Autino’s state-of-the-art, dynamic Terre degli Svevi winery, with its own modern winemaking facility and a prestigious barrel cellar for ageing its wines.

Harvest When the grapes are ripe, this particular technique called "cutting the branch" is used, which involves cutting the head into fruit so as to interrupt the flow of sap between roots and bunches. It is thanks to this particular and natural phenomenon of dehydration, which lasts from 7 to 10 days maximum, that the grapes undergo a slight drying that leads to a concentration of hints of ripe fruit and a softening of the tannins.
Wine making The grapes harvested by hand, begin the winemaking process with cold maceration lasting 10 days, followed by fermentation alcoholic.
