Tasting notes

Profumo

Perfume

Initially a little compressed, it slowly melts on barely whispered notes of black cherry, hot spices, walnut husks.

Color

Deep ruby red.

Gusto

Taste

It appears austere and not very compliant with softness, with fierce tannins and a slightly bitter taste. Finale folded on itself, dark and a little scorbutico.

Re Manfredi was established in 1998, in the heart of Aglianico del Vulture DOC wine country, just a few kilometres from Venosa, the little town famous as the birthplace of Latin poet Horace in 65 BC.A smart, welcoming farmhouse is the centre of the estate, which has 100 and more hectares of Guyot and spurred cordon-trained vines.

Next to the farmhouse is Andrea Autino’s state-of-the-art, dynamic Terre degli Svevi winery,with its own modern winemaking facility and a prestigious barrel cellar for ageing its wines.

Cultivation system 30 hectares of vineyards, established for twenty years, with a density of 3000 vines pruned using the Gujot system; a further 22 hectares with 10-year-old vines are pruned on spurred cordons 80 cm from the ground with a planting density of 5000 vine-stocks/ha.
