Description
What kind of wine it is
Sandrone Barolo Le Vigne is a still red wine that expresses the essence of Nebbiolo grapes. This Barolo boasts a refined profile, with a full body and a defined mineral texture. On the nose, it offers aromas of blackberry, rose, spices and graphite. On the palate, it reveals density and concentrated fruit, balanced by vibrant acidity and silky tannins. The finish is persistent, with a note of bitter orange. Known for its long ageing potential, it is the ideal pairing for game dishes, roasts and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from renowned crus located in various Barolo villages: Vignane, Merli, Baudana, Villero and Le Coste di Monforte. This selection allows for the combination of different exposures and soils in a single glass, enriching the wine's structure. The Sandrone winery follows meticulous viticulture, working the plots according to the specific needs of the soil. Careful management and daily monitoring of the vines ensure high-quality grapes. The result is a pure expression of the territory, capable of harmonising the identity of each area in a blend of great depth.
How it is produced
Production involves processing the grapes separately for each plot. After destemming and gentle pressing, the must undergoes a brief maceration. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts begins in stainless steel vats and concludes in French oak barrels. Afterwards, the lots are combined in a careful assemblage. Maturation continues in French oak barrels for about two years, allowing the wine to develop harmony. This is followed by bottle ageing for eighteen months, essential to stabilise the structure before release.
