Description
A still red from Tuscany, 14.5% ABV, produced by Poggioargentiera. 100% Syrah, a varietal that finds ideal soil in Maremma to express its full complexity. 2021 vintage. Vineyards in the Baccinello area, with soils rich in alluvial pebbles and predominantly calcareous clay. Traditional fermentation with extended contact with the skins for approximately two weeks in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Aged in 500-liter French oak tonneaux for approximately 14 months and one year in bottle before release. An intense and clean wine that is the result of the profound interaction between grape and soil. Notes of licorice, black pepper, and a surprising softness with a delicate hint of wood.

The 15 acres (six hectares) of vineyards began to produce grapes for a Morellino di Scansano and the new cellar was built. In 2001 the property was enlarged with the acquisition of another farm, located in Baccinello, a hillside zone in the township of Scansano. New vineyards were added to the older but prestigious existing ones, and today the winery owns over 50 acres (21 hectares) of vineyards all in the Morellino di Scansano appellation. Read more
