Description
What kind of wine it is
Parusso Langhe Nebbiolo El Sartu is a still red wine that expresses the character of Nebbiolo with great freshness. In the glass, it displays a bright ruby red colour, a prelude to a broad and intense bouquet dominated by clear floral notes. On the palate, it reveals elegant hints of fruit and spices, supported by a sweet and fine tannin that ensures a smooth and pleasant drink. Appreciated by international critics, this wine pairs perfectly with structured first courses, rich cheese boards and roast meats and game.
Where it comes from
It originates in Piedmont, within the Langhe area, coming to life from the hills of Monforte d’Alba, more precisely between the localities of Ornati and Mosconi. The vineyards are situated between 350 and 450 metres above sea level, benefiting from an ideal south-west exposure for the perfect ripening of Nebbiolo. With a density of 5,500 plants per hectare, careful agronomy allows the concentration of aromas while preserving the natural fragrance of the fruit. The unique characteristics of these plots give the wine a clear territorial identity and a well-defined aromatic profile.
How it is produced
The winemaking process begins with a rigorous manual harvest of the grapes. After destemming, the must undergoes maceration in contact with the skins at a controlled temperature, in order to calibrate the extraction. Alcoholic fermentation starts spontaneously thanks to the action of indigenous yeasts, a practice that enhances the primary liveliness of the fruit. The structure of the wine is finally harmonised through ten months of ageing in barrels, a period that perfectly integrates the elegant aromatic and flavour components.
History and Curiosities
The Sartù Langhe Nebbiolo 2024 by Parusso pays tribute to the family's winemaking dedication. Produced on the slopes of Monforte d’Alba, between the areas of Ornati and Mosconi, this red is born from careful manual harvesting. The authenticity of the region is enhanced by spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and no added sulphites, a choice that preserves an enviable freshness. The elegant ageing of 10 months in barrique enriches its structure, defining a prestigious label already awarded 91 points by Robert Parker.
