Description

Barolo Riserva is characterized by a longer aging period than traditional Barolo: three years in large 1500-liter Slavonian oak barrels instead of two years. Over the years, we have also experimented with various aging periods in ceramic amphorae, starting with 100-liter containers for 2, 3, or 6 months, up to the amphorae we use now, each holding 500 liters for 1.5 to 2 years in total. The wine does not undergo a maturation process like in wood, but rather ages as if in a large bottle, slowly, until bottling, developing the famous tertiary aromas typical of great Barolos and Riservas.
