Description

Please forgive our arrogance… When you start a new project you always have a great deal of enthusiasm that helps you overcoming obstacles and looking at the future ahead of you. This wine is instead a proof of our maturity as the wine express itself with ample character, sumptuous. The acidic underlay reflects itself in body of the wine and its aromas, like game of mirrors that multiplies perceptions. A wine that that takes who drinks it on a journey made of small and big sensations. (Federico Curtaz)

Precious olfactory baggage: in an aromatic whirlpool scents of rock salt and toasted corn, dense ensemble of medicinal herbs, candied citrus peel, almond candy and a tzunami of mineral impressions.

Shimmering gold.

In the mouth it marches triumphantly with dynamism and perfect flavour, enclosed in a mouth with a sustained body. It slowly satisfies itself by defining a finale on memories of flint.

The winery Montepepe is located on the lower slopes of a hill near Montignoso (Massa Carrara) a few kilometers from the Versilia sea, in the area of ??the DOC Colli of Candia and IGT Tuscan Coast.
The proximity of the sea and the Apuan Alps creates a special microclimate, made of windy summers and mild winters. The vineyards are located on terraces overlooking the sea, facing south on the mid-range of the hill. The soil consists of a loamy texture soils, slightly sandy, acid significantly.
The vineyards were mostly replanted in 2004. The vineyard area is about 5 hectares and is divided equally between white grapes and red grapes, cultivated with sapling oriented pruning, reared back, with screws to 0.6 meters apart.
Among the white Vermentino and Viognier. The Vermentino is a vigorous and productive vine, is well suited to the meager soil, with warm and slightly drought environments, typically grown in coastal areas and warm-arid south. In the medium-late maturing, it keeps well aroma. Gives quality wines, with a beautiful color intensity.
Among the reds, Syrah and Massaretta. The latter is a native Tuscan varieties, grown in the province of Massa Carrara. Very vigorous vine with medium ripening period. It has berries with waxy skin and produces a wine with ruby ??red color and good body.
