Description
Dolcetto d'Alba Madonna del Dono is a red wine, authentic and fascinating like the land it comes from: the Langhe of Piedmont. The vineyard it comes from is located in the Alba area, in the Madonna di Como area, which inspires its mystical name. A still red wine, characterized by particular delicacy, it embodies all the body of the fertile limestone soil, also rich in silt, quartz sand, and sandstone. It is vinified pure, exclusively with the black grapes of the typical Dolcetto grape variety, which produces a sweet nectar thanks to its sugary and juicy grapes. The vines, caressed by the favorable Piedmont climate, where long, harsh winters, capable of freezing the earth, alternate with pleasant, lightly rained summers, are trained using the Guyot system and extend gently up the hillside. The grapes are delicate and are processed immediately after harvest. Pressing and destemming are gentle, while maceration takes place at 30°C, with the crushed grapes placed in small containers. The fermentation of Dolcetto d'Alba Madonna del Dono is slow and occurs at a lower temperature. In the cellar, during the maturation process, the wine is racked and collected in cement-lined, cork-lined vats or in steel barrels. Produced by the Marchesi di Barolo winery, this Dolcetto d'Alba is part of a premium line, Le Selezioni. It boasts DOC certification and prestigious awards from Gambero Rosso, Bibenda, Wine Enthusiast, and James Suckling, to name just a few of the most important.
