Description

What kind of wine it is

Luigi Einaudi Dogliani is a still red wine that expresses the authenticity of Dolcetto grapes. In the glass, it displays a ruby red colour with violet highlights, typical of the Dogliani area. The bouquet offers aromas of blackberry, cherry and plum, enriched by delicate hints of undergrowth. On the palate, it is bold and elegant, characterised by silky tannins that lead to a satisfying finish with nuances of almond.

Where it comes from

The grapes come from the municipality of Dogliani, in the province of Cuneo, a prime area for the Dolcetto grape variety. The vines are trained using the Guyot system on the hills of San Luigi, San Giacomo and Madonna delle Grazie. The optimal exposure of the vineyards ensures even ripening, while the marl-limestone and clay soils give the wine its unmistakable tannic structure and support its deep, vibrant colour.

How it is produced

Vinification involves temperature-controlled fermentation in steel and concrete tanks, followed by a short maceration with racking after about four days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine continues to mature in inert tanks, where frequent rackings help preserve its integrity and aromatic freshness. The wine is bottled from February onwards to reach its maximum expression with the arrival of summer.
