Description

What kind of wine it is

Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé Champagne is a Brut with an elegant profile, produced exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes. Crafted using the Traditional Method with the saignée technique, it stands out for its extraordinary freshness. On the nose, vivid notes of fresh red fruits such as raspberry, strawberry and black cherry emerge, intertwined with subtle hints of brioche. On the palate, the crisp attack harmonises with a velvety texture and fine effervescence, finishing with a long and persistent finish.

Where it comes from

This wine comes from the historic Champagne region, with grapes selected mainly from the Montagne de Reims. The refined blend of ten crus, including highly renowned areas such as Ambonnay, Bouzy and Tours-sur-Marne, enhances the intrinsic structure of Pinot Noir. The meticulous agronomic care of Laurent-Perrier ensures a high consistency of quality and a consistently defined aromatic profile. This origin guarantees an authentic territorial expression and a vibrant fruity identity.

How it is produced

After selection and destemming, the Pinot Noir grapes undergo a direct maceration on the skins for 48-72 hours, essential for extracting their bright colour. The second fermentation in the bottle follows the strict rules of the Traditional Method, also completing the malolactic fermentation. The wine initially matures in tank before undergoing a prolonged ageing on the lees of at least forty-eight months, resting for a total of five years in the cellars to achieve the perfect structural balance of the Brut style.

History and Curiosities

Created in 1968 by Maison Laurent-Perrier, founded in 1812, this Cuvée Rosé is an icon of quality. Produced exclusively from Pinot Noir using the saignée method, it requires maceration for 48-72 hours. Crafted by oenologist Michel Fauconnet with grapes from the Montagne de Reims, it matures for 5 years on the lees in the cellar. A perfect combination, awarded 92 points by critics.

In 1881, when master cellarer Eugène Laurent inherited the Champagne Maison Alphonse Pierlot, he provided it with the essential foundations for the production of great champagnes, namely the houses and land to create a real estate. He bought vineyards in the best terroirs of Bouzy, Tours-sur-Marne and Ambonnay, dug 800 metres of cellars and created a tasting workshop.

This is how Domaine Laurent-Perrier was anchored in Tours-sur-Marne. This picturesque village is ideally situated at the crossroads of the three main wine-growing areas of the Marne département: the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs. It is also one of the 17 Champagne villages classified in the prestigious 'Grand Cru' area.

Ideal for a classy aperitif, this Champagne pairs beautifully with an entire meal. The extraordinary freshness of the Pinot Noir matches wonderfully with shellfish and sushi, while the velvety notes of fresh red fruits balance the spicy flavours of Asian cuisine. It is recommended to serve it at 8-10°C to fully enhance its roundness.
