Description
Still red Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC, 15% ABV, produced by Giacomo Conterno, 2022 vintage. A wine that embodies the history and passion of one of Piedmont's most celebrated wineries. The history of the Giacomo Conterno winery is conventionally traced back to 1908, when Giovanni Conterno and his family opened an inn and produced wine in the hamlet of San Giuseppe near Monforte d'Alba. Vinification takes place in 60-70 hectoliter oak vats. Aged for 44 months in large barrels and briefly in bottle. On the nose, it presents subtle aromas of red currants and raspberries, wild rose and dried violets, sweet spices, tea leaves, flint, cardamom, balsamic and mineral notes. Bright ruby color. Broad and enveloping on the palate, it is warm and soft, with structured and silky tannins and a brilliant fresh-savory underpinning. Long and persistent.
