Description
Still white wine from Alto Adige DOC, 13.5% ABV, produced by Dipoli Peter. 100% Sauvignon. 0.75 L bottle, 2021 vintage. A Sauvignon named after Voglar, the ancient name of the area where the company's vineyards are located. Alcoholic fermentation lasts about ten days and takes place in large acacia barrels holding 19 to 58 hl. Malolactic fermentation is avoided, and the wine remains on the fermentation lees in the barrels until the month of May following the harvest. In the first three months following fermentation, battonage is performed every 10 days. The wine is then bottled and remains in the cellar until January of the following year before being released to the market. On the nose, it features an olfactory bouquet featuring hints of tropical fruit, vegetal and varietal notes, hints of candied citrus, and salty and mineral nuances. Intense straw yellow with golden reflections. The palate offers a beautiful balance between soft, creamy elements and fresh, savory elements. Excellent length.

In the following years, the estate was enlarged by buying some new vineyard and renting others. This is how the vineyard Iugum in the nearby village of Magré, became part of the property. In the beginning the grapes were vinified at a friend’s winery. A fundamental step was to buy an ancient, rural house in Villa, in the village of Egna, that in 1998 was restored and became the estate winery. Read more

| Story | Voglar is the ancient name of the area where the winery's vineyards are located. The term derives from the Trentino dialect expression 'fogolar', meaning hearth. Originally, the vineyards were planted to Schiava, a local grape variety, which was completely replaced by Sauvignon blanc between 1988 and 1991. Careful study and research into this variety led to the conclusion that the position, altitude and limestone nature of Voglar provide the favourable conditions for the production of an excellent white wine. |
