Description
What kind of wine it is
The Champagne Brut Reserve by Bérêche & Fils is a wine of character, an authentic expression of Champagne. This harmonious blend combines Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir in an elegant glass. On the nose, it offers aromas of orange zest and fresh fruit, with hints of bread crust. On the palate, it reveals a medium-full body with a fleshy texture, delivering a soft and enveloping sip. Crafted using the Traditional Method, it represents a vibrant and precise interpretation of the appellation.
Where it comes from
The wine originates in the heart of Champagne, the result of the work of Bérêche & Fils, active since 1847. The grapes come from ten hectares, among which stand out old vines over forty years old, capable of producing bunches with deep aromatic concentration and a clear structure. The management is based on sustainable practices to protect the soil, from natural grassing to organic fertilisation, limiting interventions. Operating as a récoltant-manipulant, the winery oversees every stage directly, enhancing the true essence of the terroir.
How it is produced
The production process uses the Traditional Method to enhance the qualities of the grapes with a slow prise de mousse in the bottle. The base wine ferments in barrels and small vats, a meticulous technique that gives precision to the weight and consistency of the drink. Afterwards, the wine rests on the lees with ageing on the lees for between twenty-four and thirty-six months, developing its unmistakable bouquet. The absence of filtration preserves the integrity of the sip, ensuring depth of flavour and an ageing potential of around ten years.
History and Curiosities
Since 1847, the Bérêche & Fils maison has been producing excellence in Champagne, and is now led by the fifth generation of the family. This superb Champagne Brut Reserve embodies the most authentic tradition of the region, as it comes from vines over forty years old cultivated using sustainable practices. As true récoltant-manipulant, the producers create an artisanal product without filtration. The slow fermentation in barrels and small vats, combined with the long ageing on the lees for 24 to 36 months, delivers an enveloping sip, awarded 93 points by Vinous.

Every action has been adequately thought out. Of course our land is plowed and we also use weed control to limit disease. This vegetation cover avoids herbicides, insecticides and anti-rots. Everything begins with the soil. The fertilization is organic. We feed wildlife which in turn feeds flora and thus the soil is working. As a result the House Bérêche has one of the lowest treatment frequency index in the Champagne region. It is also among the first to be certified High Environmental Quality (level 3). Read more
