Description

What kind of wine it is

Barone Pizzini Bagnadore Franciacorta Riserva Dosaggio Zero is an organic sparkling wine created from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Produced using the Traditional Method, it displays an intense yellow hue and a persistent perlage. The absence of dosage enhances a pure and linear profile, revealing notes of ripe fruit, spices, aromatic herbs and hints of yeast. On the palate, it offers a broad and creamy structure, supported by a mineral tension that adds vibrancy. The balance resolves in a savoury finish, confirming an excellent potential for ageing.

Where it comes from

The roots of this label lie in Franciacorta, within the Roccolo vineyard. At around two hundred and fifty metres above sea level, the vines benefit from a climate moderated by a nearby woodland, which encourages temperature variation and protects biodiversity. The soil is of moraine origin, characterised by sandy deposits and a well-draining subsoil. This geological formation gives the grapes a distinct mineral precision, an unmistakable signature of the terroir. Organic management follows the rhythm of nature, ensuring ideal ripening of the bunches.

How it is produced

The production process begins with a gentle pressing and separation of the musts. The first fermentation takes place in steel tanks and small barrels, where the wine rests for eight months, enriched through bâtonnage. After the blend is created, the secondary fermentation in the bottle according to the Traditional Method initiates a slow ageing on the lees for seventy-two months. At the end, disgorgement at zero dosage preserves the wine’s most authentic character, resulting in a dry, taut and deeply expressive sip.

History and Curiosities

The Bagnadore Franciacorta Riserva by Barone Pizzini is a refined organic sparkling wine with Zero Dosage that enhances the authenticity of its territory. Produced in limited quantities, it is made from the finest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes from the Roccolo vineyard, where nearly thirty-year-old vines benefit from a microclimate tempered by the surrounding woodland. The excellence of this 2016 vintage lies in the slow fermentation in small barrels and in steel, crowned by a long ageing on the lees for 72 months. A glass that offers a profoundly dry, mineral and vibrant sip.
