Description
What kind of wine it is
Alain Couvreur Champagne Blanc De Noirs Brut Nature is a wine produced in the renowned Champagne region, following an organic and sustainable agricultural approach. This blend is born from the high-quality synergy between Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. In the glass, it displays a pale golden hue, introducing a powerful and expressive aromatic profile. On the palate, it offers a textured and rich sip, standing out for its vibrant and long-lasting finish.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the commune of Prouilly, west of Reims, and from select plots located in Pévy and Branscourt. The vines sink their roots into highly draining sandy soil, on slopes that ensure excellent sun exposure. This agronomic context gives the Champagne a clear territorial character. The pedoclimatic environment ensures an intense aromatic profile and a solid gustatory structure, offering an authentic and rigorous interpretation of its place of origin.
How it is produced
Production follows the precise rules of the Traditional Method, with an initial vinification carried out entirely in stainless steel tanks and the completion of malolactic fermentation. The subsequent secondary fermentation in the bottle is followed by three years of ageing on the lees, an essential phase to consolidate the wine's structural integrity. The strict pas dosé style makes it dry and linear, ideal for accompanying starters, cheeses, and dishes based on lean fish.
History and Curiosities
Alain Couvreur produces this Champagne Blanc de Noirs in Prouilly, combining artisanal expertise with a strict organic and sustainable philosophy. Made from fine Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes grown on sandy slopes with ideal exposure, the wine matures in the bottle for three years following the principles of the classic pas dosé method. This long ageing imparts a powerful and expressive character to the cuvée, offering a wonderfully rich sip that enhances the authentic vocation of the terroir without any added dosage.
