Masseria Surani is the most recent project of the Tommasi family, owner of that galaxy of companies that cover a little all the main Italian wine regions, from Veneto to Tuscany passing through Lombardy.
In Puglia the Tommasi decide to focus all on the territory of Manduria, hot and sunny and near the Ionian coast of Salento that every year attracts thousands of tourists: here the vines are cultivated Fiano, Primitivo, Negroamaro, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay , all interpreted in a modern way, with high density per hectare and low yields, and vinified instead by following the standards of the local tradition.
The wines take back this concept of heritage by labeling names that refer to the Greek gods: this year tasting the Arthemis and Heracles, obtained from the two cultivars that most represent the winemaking heritage of Masseria Surani, the Fiano (10 hectares) and the Primitivo (30 hectares).
