Description

What kind of wine it is

Inama's Chardonnay is a still white wine with Indicazione Geografica Tipica status, produced in Veneto. This wine displays a pronounced aromatic liveliness, characterised by clear scents of Golden apple, pear, lemon, and hints of beeswax, fennel, and dill. On the palate, it is fresh and elegant, with notes of banana, notable mineral freshness, and well-integrated acidity. Fermented and matured in stainless steel, it boasts a harmonious structure that finishes with a persistent, pleasantly tangy note.

Where it comes from

The grapes grow in the historic Soave Classico area, in organically farmed vineyards between the municipalities of Monteforte d’Alpone and San Bonifacio. The vines, trained using the pergola system, are situated at altitudes between 50 and 150 metres and benefit from a favourable south and south-west exposure. The soil plays a crucial role: the alternation between volcanic basalt and marine limestone gives the wine its typical territorial identity. These conditions favour regular ripening of the bunches, preserving the elegant acidic backbone of the vines, which reach up to twenty-five years of age.

How it is produced

The process begins with a rigorous manual harvest, followed by destemming and crushing of the bunches. To extract the best aromatic components, the must undergoes a brief three-hour skin maceration before pressing. Afterwards, a twelve-hour cold settling naturally clarifies the liquid. Fermentation and final maturation in stainless steel preserve the varietal fragrance and ensure a clean aromatic profile. A delicate filtration precedes the final stages, maintaining the dry and elegant style of this wine expression.

History and Curiosities

The Inama family has been producing wine for over fifty years. A fascinating detail can be found on the label, which features an optical study taken from the historic Encyclopédie by Diderot from the eighteenth century. The inspiration for this graphic design comes from the film “The Draughtsman’s Contract” by the English director Peter Greenaway, a work that explores the complex and ambiguous theme of the relationship between reality and its mysterious representation.
