Founded in the early 1970s in the castle of Montespertoli by Dr Giuseppe Losapio, an oenologist of the French school, the company expanded and settled in San Vincenzo a Torri in 1976. The vineyards extend over the hills that connect Montespertoli with Montelupo Fiorentino and San Casciano Val di Pesa. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 250-300 metres and produce very high-quality grapes that become excellent wines under the supervision of qualified and passionate staff.
Since 1976, Uggiano has been producing a wide range of typical Tuscan wines. The Chianti Colli Fiorentini DOCG, the Chianti Classico, the Chianti Riserva DOCG Fagiano, the Super Tuscans based on Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and the monovarietals Chardò and Syrà represent the highest expression of Uggiano's winemaking tradition as well as being the symbols of its success.
All wines are skilfully supervised by a team of oenologists committed to pursuing quality excellence. The iconic winery hosts Slavonian oak barrels with a capacity of 3,000-6,000 litres for maturing the wine and 225-litre French oak barriques where Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Chardonnay are aged for long periods to enhance their sensory profiles.
