Description

What kind of wine it is

Terlano Lagrein Rosé Tradition from Cantina Terlano is a still rosé wine that enhances the expressiveness of the Lagrein grape. In the glass, it displays a bright pale pink colour, enriched by luminous salmon-coloured highlights. On the nose, the bouquet is distinctly fruity, with notes of raspberry and strawberry interwoven with hints of morello cherry. On the palate, it is soft and harmonious, characterised by a pleasant fresh acidity. This lively taste profile makes it ideal for pairing with light starters, cured meats, and a delicate beef tartare or white meats.

Where it comes from

This wine originates from the Alpine landscapes of Terlano, near Bolzano, in the heart of the renowned Alto Adige region. The mountainous environment of Alto Adige promotes a pronounced aromatic purity, typical of the region’s outstanding viticulture. Cantina Terlano cultivates the vines in this favoured area, taking advantage of a microclimate ideal for showcasing the native Lagrein grape in a refined rosé style. The Alpine terroir profoundly influences the character of the wine, shaping a dynamic and elegant profile. This structure is best expressed when paired with summer dishes, carpaccio, or fresh cheeses.

How it is produced

Production begins with a rigorous manual harvest and meticulous selection of the grape bunches. This is followed by gentle pressing and a brief maceration with the skins, essential for extracting the typical rosé hue while preserving the delicacy of the must. The process continues with slow fermentation at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, a technical choice aimed at protecting the primary aromas of the grape. Finally, the wine rests with ageing on the lees for several months, a stage that enriches the flavour profile, lending roundness and balance to the palate.

History and Curiosities

The Lagrein Rosé Tradition 2024 from Cantina Terlano expresses all the authenticity of this native South Tyrolean grape variety, the result of a meticulous manual selection of the grapes. Gentle pressing and brief maceration give the wine a bright rosé colour with elegant salmon reflections. Thanks to maturation in steel tanks for 6-7 months, the wine retains a vibrant freshness and intense aromas of raspberry, strawberry and black cherry. On the palate, it reveals itself as winy and smooth, ideal for accompanying elegant aperitifs and summer dishes.
