Description
What type of wine it is
Phigaia After the Red by Serafini e Vidotto is a still red wine, an expression of the Montello and Colli Asolani designation. It is an interesting Bordeaux blend that combines Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot varieties. The style is elegant and structured, characterised by a fresh, enveloping, and complex profile, supported by a pleasant savouriness and soft tannins. Production involves careful ageing in oak barrels, which enriches the bouquet without overpowering the fruity notes, offering a harmonious taste with remarkable persistence, ideal for accompanying intense dishes.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Nervesa della Battaglia, in the province of Treviso, within the beautiful setting of Veneto. The vineyards are rooted in unique 'ferretto' soils, a geological matrix that gives the wine a distinct savoury character. The vines are trained using the Guyot system, with a density of 6,300 plants per hectare, ensuring balanced growth. These environmental conditions, combined with the local microclimate, favour the perfect ripening of the grapes, helping to shape the elegant structure and typical round tannic texture that characterise this label.
How it is produced
Production begins with a staggered harvest, carried out according to the ripening times of the individual varieties: late September for Merlot and mid-to-late October for Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. After fermentation, the wine matures for 13-18 months in second-passage oak barrels. This period of oak ageing adds complexity, developing elegant toasted notes, and allows the round and well-integrated tannins to harmonise. To ensure maximum expression, the wine is only released onto the market at least three years after the harvest, thus reaching a perfect flavour balance.
History and interesting facts
Produced in the heart of the beautiful Veneto region, specifically in Nervesa della Battaglia, this fascinating red represents an award-winning expression of the prestigious Montello e Colli Asolani DOC. Born from the expert and renowned mastery of the Serafini & Vidotto winery, it comes to life from ancient ferretto soils, a precious geological matrix that gives it an unmistakable historical character. A strict production choice dictates that it is released on the market strictly and exclusively after at least three years from the harvest, for maximum elegance.

A future laid down by the beginnings, guaranteed by the presence of a new generation. Starting with Matteo Serafini, who grew up here, among the vineyards and the cellar and trained as oenologist with experiences abroad and in the schools of Conegliano and San Michele all’Adige. In short, ideal conditions to say that we are on solid ground, while our wines are in excellent oak barrels.
Seeing that we are called Serafini & Vidotto, one might say that we have always been a group. Today that group has grown (in more ways than one), with a natural balance and understanding. Starting with Massimo and Kati, followed by the others. Those who have joined our family have found their place and, thanks to the place and to the atmosphere that has been created, no-one has left over the years. A sign that we share the same passion and tenacity. Because, although it is wonderful to live among nature, to enjoy a marvellous view day after day, the true value of our wine lies in the work of people.
Everyone produces quality. We are also committed to living with it. We have always believed that the project was about our lives. First and foremost, we had to do what we liked doing, without compromise. This is the same idea that we can find today in every Serafini & Vidotto wine. The ambition to satisfy our idea of quality. For ourselves, for the product, for all those who can rejoice in the results of our constant care. Read more
