Domaine Robert Groffier is located at the extreme south of the village of Morey St-Denis, on the border with Chambolle-Musigny, where the house, the cuverie and the cellar are located.

The enological story of the Groffier family began in 1950, when Robert inherited the land from his father Jules; currently the management is in cohabitation between the son Serge and the nephew Nicolas. Domaine Robert Groffier boasts 8 hectares of vineyards including the renowned 1er Cru Les Amoureuses, Les Sentiers and the Grand Cru Bonnes Mares and Chambertin Clos de Bèze. In the vineyard there have been no herbicides since 2005, while since 1995 the form of farming used is the Cordon de Royat which replaced the Guyot, this operation allows to reduce the yields and risks of diseases. The treatments in the vineyard are limited and are recalled only on exceptional occasions; the Groffier in fact prefer to use one-off products against diseases rather than systematically and continuously copper and sulfur.

There are no strict vinification protocols in the cellar. Annually it is decided on the use or not of the stalks, for example in 2004 and 2007 the grapes were totally de-stemmed while in 2005 there was a use of 20% of whole bunches. The grapes are transferred into steel containers where, with the use of only indigenous yeasts, the alcoholic fermentation takes place which is activated in 4-5 days. The "Pigeage" are short and frequent and occasionally can be carried out Remontage. The total duration of the macerations is about 20 days, after which the wines are aged in wooden barrels of varying ages depending on the wine contained.
