Description

Barolo Riserva Bussia Vigna Colonnello, a still red from Piedmont, 2017 vintage, produced by Prunotto. A Barolo that embodies the tradition and excellence of Nebbiolo, with an alcohol content of 14.5% vol. The grapes, 100% Nebbiolo, come from a historic vineyard. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were crushed and only 65% destemmed. Maceration, which took place in stainless steel tanks, lasted approximately seven days at a maximum temperature of 30°C. Malolactic fermentation was completed before the end of winter. Aged in French oak barrels of various capacities for 18 months and then for 24 months in stainless steel. The wine aged for 24 months in bottle before being released. The nose is complex and characterized by aromas of spices, including exotic ones, dried flowers, and undergrowth. On the palate it stands out for its excellent concentration of fine, sweet tannins, capable of enveloping the palate without being aggressive, with a long and persistent finish.

The Prunotto estate is located in Alba, the most important city in the Langhe area halfway between Barbaresco and Barolo on the right side of the Tanaro river, on gentle plains surrounded by vineyards in the Langhe and Roero territories. Alba’s surrounding landscapes are captivating. The natural beauty of the gently rolling hills alternate with small sloping valleys covered by rows of meticulously cultivated vineyards.

The Antinori family, charmed by such rich natural beauty, unique vineyards and soils, decided to invest time and energy in this terroir confident that their efforts would make Prunotto what it is today, one of the most important winemaking estates in the Piedmont region.
