Description

Still red from Piedmont, Barbaresco DOCG, 14% ABV, produced by Prunotto. 100% Nebbiolo. 0.75 L bottle, 2020 vintage. A Barbaresco born in the heart of the Langhe, where the Antinori family has successfully enhanced Nebbiolo, creating an elegant and complex wine. Upon arrival at the cellar, the grapes were destemmed and pressed. Maceration took place over approximately 10 days at a maximum temperature of 30°C. Malolactic fermentation was completed before winter. Aged for at least 12 months in oak barrels. Secondine further refined in bottle for a few months before being released. The nose is complex, with sensations of raspberry and rose that blend beautifully with notes of tobacco, white pepper, and licorice. On the palate, it is elegantly structured and harmonious, with fine and sweet tannins.

The Prunotto estate is located in Alba, the most important city in the Langhe area halfway between Barbaresco and Barolo on the right side of the Tanaro river, on gentle plains surrounded by vineyards in the Langhe and Roero territories. Alba’s surrounding landscapes are captivating. The natural beauty of the gently rolling hills alternate with small sloping valleys covered by rows of meticulously cultivated vineyards.

The Antinori family, charmed by such rich natural beauty, unique vineyards and soils, decided to invest time and energy in this terroir confident that their efforts would make Prunotto what it is today, one of the most important winemaking estates in the Piedmont region.
