Description

What kind of wine it is

The Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco Montefico Riserva is a still red wine from Piedmont, a pure expression of the Nebbiolo grape variety from the Barbaresco Riserva area. Its sensory profile offers intense floral aromas and notes of spiced fruit. On the palate, it reveals a solid structure and a mature tannic texture, finishing with an austere and elegant finale. It is ideal paired with fresh egg pasta, risottos, red meats, game, and mature cheeses. It is recommended to serve at a temperature of 18-20 °C, preceded by about an hour of decanting to fully appreciate its complexity.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in the heart of the Piedmontese territory of Barbaresco, specifically in the renowned Montefico cru. The vineyards, managed by the historic families united under the Produttori del Barbaresco label, benefit from a favourable southern exposure. The vines sink their roots into clay and limestone soils, which ensure optimal ripening of the grapes and an unmistakable territorial character. The interaction between the unique microclimate and the soil shapes the structured character and distinctive elegance of this celebrated wine region.

How it is produced

Vinification involves fermentation in steel tanks at 30 °C and a skin maceration lasting twenty-eight days to extract colour and structure. Once malolactic fermentation is complete, the wine matures for thirty-six months in large oak barrels. This stage, together with a final resting period, promotes excellent aromatic harmony. The rigorous production process ensures the wine has remarkable ageing potential, which can extend between ten and fifteen years.

History and Curiosities
