Description
What kind of wine it is
Marguet Coteaux Champenois Rouge Pinot Noir Ambonnay is a still red wine originating from Champagne. This interpretation of Pinot Noir displays a ruby red colour and clear aromas of red fruits. On the palate, it reveals a refined and delicate profile, able to express the raw material with balance. The sip is measured and smooth, characterised by an extremely harmonious texture that encapsulates the soul of the region.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from Ambonnay, in the heart of the Coteaux Champenois. The vineyards stretch across the Les Tourés and Le Terme Bazin plots, where the chalky soils shape the local identity. Marguet works these lands with the help of horses, preserving the vitality of the soil and the old vines. This sensitive approach results in a clean sip, where the terroir emerges through defined fruit aromas and a measured flavour profile.
How it is produced
The process follows strict biodynamic management, supported by phytotherapeutic practices in the vineyard. In the cellar, the grapes are handled without crushing, using whole bunches to preserve aromatic definition. Fermentation is followed by nineteen months of ageing in barrels, consolidating the structure while respecting the Pinot Noir. The result is a limited edition, a faithful and vibrant expression of its origin.
History and Curiosities
This exceptional Pinot Noir comes from the Les Tourés and Le Terme Bazin plots, cultivated in Ambonnay according to a strict biodynamic philosophy. Since 2010, Marguet has worked the chalky soils with the help of horses, respecting nature through phytotherapy and aromatherapy. In the cellar, vinification takes place without crushing, using 60% whole bunches, followed by 19 months of ageing in barriques. The result is a Coteaux Champenois of great distinction, produced in a limited edition of only 1,600 bottles and without the addition of sulphites.

The horse is a unique link with the elements that make up our land such as the mineral (chalk), the plant (vines and endemic flora) and the animal (fauna and Man).
In many civilizations, the horse is a sacred animal, non-predatory and contributing to social and spiritual balance.
Our winery is dedicated to harmony with nature by nurturing old vines with biodynamic, phytotherapeutic and aromatherapeutic practices. Discover our localities of Ambonnay and Bouzy, where we cultivate our grapes with an average age of 40 years. Read more
