Description
Style of wine
Champagne Grand Cru Shaman Brut Nature Marguet is an exceptional Traditional Method sparkling wine produced in the renowned Champagne region. Born from the mastery of the Marguet estate, this wine expertly combines Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, offering a structured and complex tasting experience. Boasting the prestigious designation of origin, it stands out for its Brut Nature profile, free of any sugar dosage, which enhances its absolute purity. Its characteristics reflect a distinct verticality and a sharp chalky acidity, making it the ideal choice for those seeking an authentic and energetic sip.
Origin
The grapes for this wine come from the prestigious Ambonnay Grand Cru, located in the renowned Montagne de Reims in the Champagne region. This area is characterised by a cool continental climate, which decisively shapes the development of the vines and gives the wine its peculiar elegance. The terroir is dominated by a deep subsoil of chalky limestone, enriched by surface layers of silt, sand and calcareous clay. This particular geological combination gives the Champagne a characteristic savouriness and a marked minerality, hallmarks of this exceptional territory.
Production process
The creation of this Champagne Grand Cru follows the strict principles of biodynamic and organic viticulture, ensuring maximum respect for the land. After a gentle whole-cluster pressing, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation begins thanks to indigenous yeasts, followed by complete malolactic fermentation. The wine is vinified and aged in oak barrels and casks, without undergoing any filtration or fining, preserving its natural essence. The secondary fermentation takes place according to the Traditional Method, followed by a period of rest on the lees for approximately 21 months, enhancing its aromatic complexity before disgorgement.
History and interesting facts
The history of this Champagne is rooted in the famous commune of Ambonnay, where historic forty-year-old vines grow according to the strict principles of Demeter-certified biodynamic viticulture. A particularly fascinating detail concerns its exclusive annual production, limited to exactly 27,699 bottles, produced without any filtration or added sulphites to preserve the total authenticity of the terroir. This deep connection with nature is magnificently celebrated by the distinctive circular emblem depicting a colourful tree.

The domaine tends old vines with an average age of around 40 years, spread across two of the most renowned terroirs of the Montagne de Reims:
8 total estate-owned hectares:
7.30 hectares in Ambonnay, distributed among the renowned crus Les Saints Remys, Les Beurys, Les Crayères, La Grande Ruelle, Les Bermonts, and Le Parc
0.70 hectares in Bouzy, divided between the Les Loges and Les Hannepés parcels
In the vineyard, every practice adheres to certified Organic and Demeter ecological and holistic principles.
Since 2010, soil tilling has been carried out exclusively with horses to avoid tractor-induced soil compaction, protect wild flora, preserve biodiversity, and connect directly with the chalk subsoil.
Vine care and defense rely on herbal macerations, infusions, and decoctions, complemented by the targeted use of essential oils, completely excluding synthetic chemicals.
In the cellar, vinification follows the natural energy of the raw fruit without invasive intervention, utilizing gentle, natural methods:
Gravity-fed transfers: Musts and base wines are moved by natural fall to minimize mechanical stress.
Aging and naturopathic approach: Significant emphasis is placed on extended lees aging and on the wine's energetic balance.
Expressive purity: The primary objective is to enhance the chalky minerality and authentic identity of each individual parcel and vintage—a principle epitomized by the Sapience range, the famed prestige cuvée crafted from certified organic grapes.
