Sangue di Giuda DOC, 7% ABV, produced by Losito and Guarini. 2024 vintage. A sweet sparkling red, a tribute to the legend of Oltrepò Pavese. A blend of Barbera and Croatina. Natural fermentation in autoclave with macro-oxygenation at 14°C with selected yeasts. Compact and persistent foam. Intense and persistent, with notes of raspberry, blueberry, blackberry jam and hints of violet. Deep ruby red color with purple highlights. Sweet, fresh, and velvety, with a blackcurrant aftertaste. Ideal with dry pastries, almond paste, and blue cheeses.

| Story | Legend has it that Judas, once dead, repented of his betrayal to Jesus and was therefore forgiven. He would later be resurrected in Broni, in Oltrepò Pavese, where citizens having recognised him tried to kill him. Judas, however, cured the vines of disease, so, in gratitude, the locals gave his name to the wine. Hence the name Judas's Blood. |
